21 established Moroccan artists will be presenting more than 100 works of art, covering 2 whole floors at the WereldMuseum, Rotterdam. These pieces range from video art, photography and sculpture pieces, till paintings, fashion and design cases.
According to the WereldMuseum, the works reflect the modern-day artistic atmosphere of Morocco, one that is deeply affected by Moroccan heritage. These prominent artists offer their own interpretations and represent them through various means combining past and present, old and new.
The exhibition (part of the jubilee year) celebrates 400 years of Moroccan-Dutch relations and is the first of its kind in the Netherlands, bringing so many artifacts from different mediums under the same roof.
The exhibition starts tomorrow, 4 march 2005 and continues year long till the 5th of march, 2006 (!).
This gives us all plenty of time to enjoy the exhibition, and I would recommend all to go and check it out. Write us your opinions about the exhibition.
